A repeat client purchased a home in the Bird Streets and asked us to do the whole house in 6 months.

SCOPE: 2 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom home with an office

BUDGET: $1,040,000

SQUARE FOOTAGE: 3,800 sq. ft.

CHALLENGES: The 6-month deadline was very challenging and we unfortunately did not achieve it. We installed roughly 75% of it in 7 months and installed the rest 3 months later.

Although the sofa is not very big, figuring out how to design it in a way to get it in the room took a lot of thought because of a tight corner with a low ceiling and involved me taking a trip to the house with a foam core template to figure out how to get it in.

Before the template, we thought we were going to have to have a seam or use Sofa Doctor, but after I went to the house I figured out the best thing to do would be to have it made in three parts: the wood base, the seat cushion, and the back cushion, then assemble it on site.

CONCEPT

Because there was a jog in the wall that the TV was going on, we needed to do a custom media console and my Studio Director asked me to 3D model and render it so she could have a better idea of what it would look like in the space.

And because this project was moving at such a fast pace, I didn’t do a drawing but only dimensioned my 3D model for Marmol Radziner’s wood and metal shop to base their shop drawings on. If shop drawings were not a possibility, I would have done a design drawing.

Because there were no other changes to the space or special circumstances, I did not render the entire room, only this console.
